My name is Todd Cole owner of Belleville Sign Rentals
My interest in advertising and years of helping a friend with his sign business sparked my decision to enter this industry. The opportunity to purchase Belleville Sign Rentals came at a perfect time in my life, combining my passion for marketing with a chance to run an established business.
Owning my own business had always been a dream of mine. Over the years, I educated myself by reading books by high-profile entrepreneurs and learning about different facets of running a business. I used the opportunity of running BSR as a chance to apply my knowledge and creativity to a new venture. The challenge of expanding an already established business was exciting, and it felt like the right moment to dive in.
Although the business has been around since the 1980s, my journey with Belleville Sign Rentals began with a year of working with my friend Scott in the business before finalizing the purchase in 2022. Transitioning from employee to owner has been a fulfilling experience filled with milestones, from closing the deal to celebrating my first two years as a business owner. It has been a thrilling adventure, and every day brings new opportunities for growth.
Running a business is a continuous learning experience. Despite my preparation, I quickly realized that there's always more to understand about operations, customer service, marketing, and accounting. Balancing a full-time job while managing the business presented its own set of challenges, as did learning new accounting software and navigating the complexities of small business ownership. However, these hurdles have strengthened my resolve and commitment to making Belleville Sign Rentals a success.
